Malaysia’s Ministry of Health has successfully engaged approximately two million citizens through its network of 38 Wellness Hubs established across the country. Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad noted that these facilities, including two located in Melaka, function as community-based referral points rather than traditional medical clinics. The initiative represents a strategic transition in the national healthcare framework, moving away from a focus on treating existing illnesses toward proactive disease prevention. By targeting the increasing prevalence of non-communicable diseases, these centers provide essential resources for public health maintenance. Available services at these hubs include weight management programs, mental health evaluations, smoking cessation assistance, and various physical activity modules designed to encourage long-term healthy habits among the population.
