While political factions in Bangladesh have reached a consensus on the necessity of restoring a caretaker government system for national elections, significant procedural questions remain unresolved. Discussions held under the interim administration's National Consensus Commission confirm broad agreement on the system itself, yet the specific mechanism for appointing the chief adviser continues to cause friction. Although the July Charter suggests utilizing a parliamentary selection committee, stakeholders still hold divergent views regarding the implementation of this process. To address these uncertainties, the Parliamentary Special Committee on Reformation of Constitution is actively soliciting proposals from various groups to establish a definitive framework. While new suggestions have been submitted to the committee, a final structure for the caretaker government has not yet been established.
