Authorities conducted a search operation at a poultry farm located in Barangay Pugol, Lamut, Ifugao, on Sunday morning, targeting former Bureau of Corrections head Gerald Bantag. Law enforcement officials were unable to locate the fugitive during the raid. Bantag remains a wanted individual in relation to the 2022 homicides of radio journalist Percival Mabasa, widely known as Percy Lapid, and New Bilibid Prison detainee Cristito Villamor, also referred to as Jun Villamor. The operation was part of ongoing efforts to apprehend the former official, who has successfully evaded capture since warrants were issued for his involvement in the high-profile murder cases.
