Delhi police have taken Abhijeet Dipke, the founder of the Cockroach Janta Party, into custody ahead of a planned demonstration in the capital. Dipke is scheduled to appear before a Special Executive Magistrate following his detention, which officials stated was intended to maintain public order. The arrest occurred as protesters gathered to demand the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Activists and student organizations have been staging frequent rallies this month, alleging that recent updates to voter rolls were manipulated to benefit the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party. Critics claim that the removal of over 130 million names from the electoral lists during the revision process was biased. While Dipke remains in custody, fellow activist Neha Bora has been released. Authorities have not yet provided an official statement regarding the specific legal actions taken against the movement's leadership.
