Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani and his family members have been included in the Election Commission of India's discrepancy list during the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Karnataka. Their records were marked as unmapped to the 2002 electoral rolls, necessitating document verification before the final roll publication on October 27. Similar notices were issued to millions of voters, including actor Shivarajkumar and activist Harekala Hajabba, due to inconsistencies in personal details. While some prominent figures received home verification services, many ordinary citizens have reported challenges in navigating the verification process, citing difficulties in locating officials or clarifying minor discrepancies in name transliterations. Election authorities have clarified that not all flagged individuals require formal notices, as some cases are resolved through administrative review. The verification phase for the state's 4.46 crore voters continues until October 22.
