Gholamhossein Darzi, Iran's representative to the United Nations, has formally stated that the United States and Israel are accountable for any interference with shipping lanes in the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf. During his address in New York, the diplomat cautioned that ongoing hostile actions and maritime limitations imposed by these nations jeopardize stability across the broader region. Tehran maintains that the presence and policies of Washington and Tel Aviv are the primary drivers of current navigational challenges, warning that such aggression undermines the safety of international maritime transit in these critical waters.
