Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei has issued a formal rejection of the territorial assertions made by the United Arab Emirates and Canada concerning three islands in the Persian Gulf. In a recent joint statement involving the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and the Canadian Prime Minister, the sovereignty of Abu Musa, Greater Tunb, and Lesser Tunb was questioned. Baqaei reaffirmed that these territories are an inseparable part of Iran. Furthermore, he described the joint declaration as a violation of international legal standards and the foundational principles established by the United Nations Charter, maintaining that Iran holds permanent ownership of the islands.
