Diorella Maria Sotto-Antonio, the head of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board, stated that the agency is prepared to extend its regulatory oversight to include online streaming and subscription-based video platforms. This commitment was made during a recent Senate inquiry in response to a question from Senator Erwin Tulfo regarding the potential expansion of the board's mandate. Sotto-Antonio confirmed that the MTRCB possesses the capacity to monitor digital content, provided that the Philippine Congress formally grants the necessary legislative authority to broaden the agency's current scope of operations.
