Rashad Al-Alimi, head of Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council, has reaffirmed his administration's commitment to reclaiming state control and restoring national institutions. During a meeting with European Union and Dutch representatives, Al-Alimi expressed concern regarding the potential militarization of the Bab Al-Mandab Strait. He cautioned that the region should not be converted into a strategic leverage point for Iranian interests, comparing such a scenario to the tensions surrounding the Strait of Hormuz. The discussion also addressed recent military escalations initiated by Houthi forces along the western coast of Taiz province. Al-Alimi emphasized that the Yemeni government remains focused on stability and rejected accusations of provoking the current hostilities, instead attributing the renewed violence to Houthi aggression in the area.
