The Nepal Oil Corporation has officially commenced efforts to consolidate the country's liquefied petroleum gas sector. Following guidelines established in its fiscal year 2083/84 policy and programme, the state-owned entity aims to merge the 58 distinct LPG brands currently active in the market. On October 29, the corporation issued formal directives to all industry operators, requesting that they develop and submit comprehensive action plans to facilitate these mergers. This strategic initiative is intended to streamline the national supply chain, improve operational efficiency, and ensure that the distribution and retail of cooking gas become more accessible and convenient for the general public. By reducing the number of independent operators, the corporation anticipates a more structured and consumer-oriented market environment.
