The annual Pesta Pulau Pinang is set to resume its month-long festivities on December 1, shifting its location to Padang Menora in Tasek Gelugor. Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow announced the change, noting that the new venue is more compact than the festival's long-standing home in Sungai Nibong. The relocation was necessitated by the closure of the traditional site to accommodate the development of the Mutiara Line light rail transit station and depot. Despite the smaller footprint, state officials have confirmed that Padang Menora is well-suited to host the event. The decision followed an extensive search for alternative sites conducted by the state government in collaboration with the Penang Regional Development Authority.
