Kumar Nayan, a political commentator, has filed a petition with the Delhi High Court contesting the suspension of his X account, known as @Nehr_who. Nayan claims the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting blocked his satirical profile without offering a formal explanation, specific reasons, or relevant documentation. The account, which had amassed over 250,000 followers, was restricted under Section 69A of the Information Technology Act. In his legal filing, Nayan argues that the government's actions infringe upon his fundamental rights, including freedom of speech, personal liberty, and the right to practice his profession. He asserts that he was notified by the social media platform on July 27 regarding the ministry's directive. The petitioner is now seeking judicial intervention to address what he describes as repeated targeting by central authorities.
