During the 7th CICA summit, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized the growing strategic significance of the Caspian Sea for global and regional energy security. He announced plans to deepen collaboration with Azerbaijan to expand Kazakhstan's oil export capacity through the Baku–Tbilisi–Ceyhan pipeline. Beyond energy logistics, Tokayev stressed that the Caspian region should serve as a zone of stability and mutual cooperation. He specifically called for collective action among neighboring states to manage water resources and protect the local ecosystem. The President noted that environmental sustainability is becoming an increasingly central pillar of the organization's agenda, reflecting the necessity of preserving the sea's health for future generations.
