The Ministry of Interior’s Search and Follow-Up Department in Qatar has issued a call for expatriates currently in violation of residency regulations to come forward voluntarily. Major Saud Hamad Alburaidi, representing the department, explained during a recent webinar that individuals who have overstayed their visas but remain free of other legal complications should contact authorities to facilitate their return home. Those who choose to report their status will have their specific situations evaluated by the Follow-Up Section. While the department aims to assist with departure procedures, officials noted that any necessary legal steps will still be carried out according to existing national regulations before the individuals are permitted to leave the country. This initiative is intended to provide a structured path for those wishing to rectify their residency status and exit Qatar.
