Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi is set to visit Punjab to organize a mobilization drive ahead of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest march scheduled for September 27 in Islamabad. During a meeting with party officials, it was reported that authorities have intensified efforts to detain PTI members across Punjab. Provincial spokesperson Mushtaq stated that dozens of workers are being arrested daily in various tehsils, with 123 individuals reportedly taken into custody in Rawalpindi alone. The party alleges that law enforcement agencies are increasingly targeting the relatives of party members, including elderly family members, when the activists themselves cannot be located. These developments occur as the political party prepares for its upcoming demonstration in the capital, despite the ongoing administrative pressure and widespread detentions reported by party leadership.
