Rastriya Swatantra Party MP Krantishikha Dhital has called on the government to utilize existing relief funds to provide secure temporary shelter for those displaced by recent flooding. During a parliamentary session, Dhital highlighted that current holding centers fail to ensure the privacy and safety of women and children, who face heightened risks of exploitation and health issues. She emphasized that authorities must prioritize the well-being of vulnerable groups while addressing the loss of essential medications and the threat of disease from unmanaged livestock remains. Beyond immediate rescue operations, the lawmaker advocated for comprehensive long-term rehabilitation strategies to help survivors regain their independence. She also noted that damaged infrastructure, including power and communication networks, continues to isolate affected communities, necessitating urgent government intervention to restore basic services and protect the dignity of those impacted by the disaster.
