The National Greening Program has scheduled the start of its 2026 seasonal campaign for October 7. This initiative, which supports the Saudi Green Initiative and Vision 2030, focuses on increasing vegetation, fighting desertification, and encouraging the use of local plant species. The program seeks to engage volunteers from various sectors to help restore land. Following the successful rehabilitation of 51,000 hectares over the previous two years, the current goal is to restore an additional 60,000 hectares. Organizers plan to distribute over 110 tons of seeds representing 70 native species. These efforts will be supported by cloud-seeding technology to improve plant growth, contributing to a broader long-term objective of rehabilitating 350,000 hectares of land across the Kingdom.
