Authorities in Songkhla have apprehended four Chinese citizens accused of orchestrating a fraudulent ritual to swindle a local resident. The incident occurred at a market in the Hat Yai district, where the suspects approached a 66-year-old woman. They allegedly convinced her that her son faced imminent peril, suggesting a spiritual ceremony was necessary for his safety. To facilitate this ritual, the victim was instructed to provide gold ornaments, cash, and rice. Following these instructions, she handed over assets valued at approximately 194,000 baht. After realizing she had been deceived, the victim reported the matter to the Thung Lung Police Station. Collaborative efforts between local police and immigration officers led to the identification and capture of the suspects.
