A Buddhist scholar has addressed public inquiries regarding the origin of a two billion baht donation made by Phra Phrom Wachira Khunathan, also known as Luang Pho Nen. The funds are designated for the construction of the Somdet Phra Maha Ratchamangalacharn Hospital, a medical facility located within the grounds of Pak Nam Temple in Bangkok's Don Mueang district. The scholar explained that the substantial contribution consists of accumulated donations from the public rather than personal wealth. The hospital project, managed by the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, is currently entering its second phase. This stage, scheduled between 2026 and 2030, involves a budget of nearly two billion baht to build a 13-storey hospital with 200 beds, alongside support structures and staff housing. The facility aims to improve healthcare access for residents in the Chatuchak and surrounding areas.
