The Federal Parliament Secretariat of Nepal has launched a trial for a new Digital Parliament Platform designed to enhance transparency and modernize administrative processes. Inaugurated by House Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal and National Assembly Chairman Narayan Prasad Dahal, the system utilizes biometric and NFC technology to track lawmaker attendance in real-time. The platform facilitates the digital registration of legislative bills, allowing for online monitoring of their progress. Additionally, the public can now access meeting agendas and reports via a dedicated portal, while members of parliament gain a mobile application for personal data and scheduling. Data security is managed through the government's integrated management center. The Secretariat is currently seeking feedback from stakeholders to refine the system, which also aims to streamline communication between parliament and government ministries regarding legislative inquiries and official responses.
