The Selangor state administration has launched the Selangor Rahmah Maintenance Assistance Programme 2026, setting aside RM100,000 to support families struggling with unpaid court-ordered maintenance. Overseen by the Selangor Syariah Judiciary Department, this initiative aims to provide immediate relief to approximately 50 families while legal enforcement proceedings against debtors remain ongoing. Eligible recipients will receive a one-off payment, with RM2,000 designated for the wife and RM1,000 for each child, based on established guidelines from the Family Support Division. According to Anfaal Saari, the state’s Women’s Development and Community Welfare Committee chairman, this program serves as a temporary social safety net for women and children who have secured a Syariah Court maintenance order but have yet to receive the mandated payments from the liable parties.
