Data from the Government for Citizens corporation indicates that Kazakhstan currently has 44 residents aged 100 or older. This demographic information was released in conjunction with the International Day of Older Persons, celebrated on October 1. The nation supports over 2.4 million pension recipients, with women representing 64 percent of this group and men comprising the remaining 36 percent. Among the centenarians, the oldest female is a 106-year-old residing in Shymkent, who is supported by her extended family. Meanwhile, the oldest male pensioner is a 104-year-old living in Almaty. These figures highlight the current state of the elderly population within the national pension system.
