Singapore delivered humanitarian assistance valued at more than S$560,000 to Nepal on September 4. This support is intended to bolster ongoing search, recovery, and disaster victim identification operations following a recent event. The aid package comprises essential medical supplies, DNA testing kits, personal protective equipment, and specialized tools crucial for search and recovery missions. Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Gan Siow Huang highlighted that this comprehensive assistance package resulted from close cooperation between various Singaporean agencies and the Nepali authorities. Furthermore, the Singapore Police Force is deploying officers with expertise in disaster victim identification and aerial surveillance. These specialists, backed by the Home Team Science and Technology Agency and the Health Sciences Authority, will provide direct support to the Nepalese authorities in their efforts.
