Singapore's Education Minister Desmond Lee has announced that the Ministry of Education is prepared to shut down schools and reschedule national examinations should the 24-hour Pollutant Standards Index (PSI) forecast surpass 300. Currently, academic activities and exams remain ongoing, though schools are implementing enhanced safety protocols, including the use of air purifiers in enclosed spaces. The Ministry plans to evaluate air quality conditions on a daily basis to determine if school closures are necessary. Should a decision to close schools be made, the Ministry will notify parents and guardians by approximately 8:00 PM on the preceding evening through official communication channels and school-based platforms. These measures are part of a broader strategy to ensure student health and safety during periods of severe haze.
