The Ministry of Education in Singapore has announced contingency plans regarding the ongoing haze situation. Minister Desmond Lee stated that authorities are prepared to shutter schools and reschedule national examinations if the 24-hour Pollutant Standards Index (PSI) is projected to surpass 300, which is classified as the hazardous range. Currently, classes and examinations are proceeding as scheduled within air-conditioned environments equipped with air purifiers. Officials will communicate any potential closures by 8:00 p.m. on the preceding evening via official channels. Furthermore, students experiencing health issues due to the air quality may request Special Consideration for their exams through their respective educational institutions. The ministry continues to evaluate daily air quality data to determine if further protective measures are necessary to ensure student safety.
