Herman Sing, a 48-year-old logistics director from Singapore, successfully donated 67 percent of his liver to an unknown patient last year. The complex procedure, which also involved the removal of his gallbladder, was performed despite the donor being informed of elevated medical risks just one night prior to the operation. Sing, a father of four, has a long history of altruism, having engaged in regular volunteer work since his mid-twenties. His philanthropic efforts include over 100 donations of blood plasma and platelets, as well as registration with the bone marrow donor program. His motivation to assist others was significantly influenced by his personal experience caring for his father during a battle with cancer, which fostered a profound understanding of the fragility of human life. Currently, Sing has recovered well and maintains an active lifestyle.
