Heavy rainfall triggered by Typhoon Saudel has resulted in multiple landslides across eastern China, leading to at least six confirmed deaths and nine individuals reported missing. According to reports from the Xinhua news agency, a significant mudslide in Jiangxi province's Mingkeng village caused five fatalities and left seven people unaccounted for. Additional landslides in the Zuo’an and Tanghu townships resulted in one further death and two missing persons. The severe weather conditions, which followed the typhoon's landfall late last month, forced local authorities to halt transportation, school operations, and business activities in several affected cities. Infrastructure, including residential buildings and road networks, sustained damage in the impacted areas. Emergency response teams, comprising over 170 personnel, are currently conducting search and rescue operations to locate the missing individuals.
