Janez Škrabec, a director and partner at the Slovenian engineering firm RIKO, recently visited Astana to observe the nation's ongoing development. Having first traveled to the region in 1988, Škrabec offers a long-term perspective on the political and economic shifts that have occurred over the past four decades. He notes that Kazakhstan is currently establishing itself as a pivotal hub for transport, energy, and technological investment. By witnessing the country's institutional growth and changing role within Eurasia over such an extensive period, Škrabec suggests that Kazakhstan is successfully moving beyond its traditional reliance on natural resources to foster broader international cooperation.
