The Korea Composite Stock Price Index experienced a downturn on Tuesday, finishing 0.89 percent lower at 6,941.39 points. This decline was primarily driven by losses within the technology sector, as investors reacted to concerns regarding bond yields reaching levels not seen in decades. Despite an initial positive opening, the market momentum shifted downward throughout the session. Trading activity remained relatively subdued, with a total volume of 257.27 million shares valued at 19.1 trillion won. Market breadth was negative, as the number of stocks that fell exceeded those that gained by 459 to 424. Furthermore, institutional and foreign investors were net sellers, offloading 1.75 trillion won in shares. Meanwhile, the South Korean won strengthened against the US dollar during the day's trading.
