This announcement follows a series of denials issued by the minister and his staff on Sunday night, where they labeled reports of his impending departure as baseless rumors. Despite the earlier rebuttals, Hossain stated via social media that he would hold a press conference at the National Press Club at 2:00 pm to share the final directive received from the Prime Minister. The situation developed shortly after the minister participated in an anti-drug operation in Dhaka over the weekend. His press office had previously characterized the news of his resignation as misleading, but the minister's latest communications confirm the transition.
