A recent nationwide survey conducted by PUBLiCUS Asia Inc. reveals that a majority of registered voters are hesitant to support politicians associated with the ongoing flood control controversy. According to the PAHAYAG poll, which took place in early October 2026, 55 percent of participants stated they would likely avoid voting for lawmakers or local government representatives implicated in the scandal during the 2028 elections. Furthermore, the data indicates that the largest segment of respondents, at 38 percent, supports a more comprehensive investigation into the alleged irregularities. While these findings highlight potential political repercussions for those involved, analysts note that expressed voter sentiment does not always guarantee specific outcomes at the ballot box. The study underscores growing public demand for accountability regarding infrastructure management and government integrity as the next election cycle approaches.
