A 70-year-old British national, Anton Gilmour Wild, was hospitalized after being kicked and punched on Jomtien Beach in Pattaya. The incident occurred in broad daylight while the city hosted thousands of visiting US military personnel. CCTV footage captured a 35-year-old Thai man approaching the victim and initiating a brief conversation before launching a physical attack. Bystanders intervened to stop the violence, and emergency responders transported the victim to a medical facility with facial injuries. The suspect attempted to justify the assault by alleging the victim was involved in a motorcycle theft, a claim police dismissed as inconsistent and incoherent. Authorities noted the suspect appeared intoxicated during questioning and attempted to flee the scene before being apprehended. Police are currently investigating the circumstances of the assault while discounting the suspect's unsubstantiated claims regarding the alleged theft.
