Judicial authorities in Ankara and Mersin have ordered the pretrial detention of 32 additional individuals as part of the government's "My Family Is Safe" operation. This latest development brings the total number of people jailed across Turkey to at least 53. In Ankara, five transgender women were among those remanded into custody following a series of police raids. Additionally, 14 individuals associated with the Kaos Gay and Lesbian Cultural Research and Solidarity Association (Kaos GL), along with journalist Tuğba Tekerek, are currently awaiting court proceedings. While 21 people were initially detained in the capital, one person was released prior to the court referral. These legal actions represent an escalation in the state's scrutiny of LGBTQ-related activities and organizations, with further judicial decisions expected for the remaining detainees.
