The İzmir Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office had previously issued warrants for 26 suspects, leaving five people still sought by law enforcement. Authorities allege that the detainees provided humanitarian support to individuals associated with the group. Among those taken into custody were elderly citizens, with media reports highlighting the detention process. The Turkish government has maintained a persistent crackdown on the movement since late 2013, following corruption allegations that implicated high-ranking officials. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has consistently characterized the organization as a conspiracy against the state, leading to widespread legal actions against its suspected members and supporters over the past decade.
