Authorities in Istanbul have launched an investigation into the withdrawal of 401.3 billion lira, equivalent to approximately 8.1 billion dollars, from investment funds. The inquiry focuses on whether specific investors were alerted to upcoming regulatory actions before they were publicly disclosed. The probe centers on 440 individuals who moved significant capital between September 1 and September 16. Specifically, 168 investors withdrew 335.9 billion lira from Tera funds, while 272 others removed 65.4 billion lira from Pusula funds. Prosecutors are currently analyzing the timing of these transactions to determine if any illicit information sharing occurred prior to the state's intervention. The investigation aims to clarify if these large-scale movements were based on private warnings rather than standard market activity.
