Gerardo del Rosario, the director of the SEC’s Registration and Monitoring Department, presented records indicating that the Vice President maintained her status as a board member and major stakeholder in Metro City Chowfoods Corp. while serving in her current role. According to the testimony, Duterte holds a 20 percent share in the Davao-based enterprise and has been an incorporator since 2016. These findings suggest a potential breach of the constitutional mandate that prohibits high-ranking officials from engaging in private business activities during their tenure. The SEC official confirmed that her involvement in the corporation is documented to continue through 2025, raising legal questions about her compliance with government ethics regulations.
