A regional convention for the Nepali Congress in Morang-6 was disrupted by physical altercations on Wednesday. The event, held in Sundarharaicha, was intended for candidate nominations but descended into chaos due to ongoing disagreements regarding active membership lists. The dispute had previously caused delays in the ward-level conventions. During the violence, several party members sustained injuries, including acting regional president Chuma Narayan Tabdar and leader Chet Raj Regmi, both of whom were transported to Nobel Medical College for treatment. Deputy general secretary Dr. Dila Sangraula was also reported to have been attacked during the incident. This constituency is associated with Dr. Shekhar Koirala, who is currently not involved in the party's general convention process. The disruption highlights internal tensions within the party organization regarding membership verification and administrative procedures.
