Hilario G. Tan, the dean of the accountancy program at the Philippine School of Business AdministrationâQuezon City, is currently the subject of administrative complaints filed with the Professional Regulation CommissionâProfessional Regulatory Board of Accountancy. The legal action was initiated by Real Excellence Online Philippines Inc. (REO), which alleges that Tan improperly accessed and distributed their copyrighted CPA licensure examination review content. According to the complaint-affidavit, REO maintains exclusive ownership of its video lectures and written study materials, which are distributed via secure platforms. The firm claims that Tan acquired these proprietary assets without authorization and subsequently engaged in the unauthorized reproduction or redistribution of the content. Additionally, the educator is facing accusations regarding the publication of a private chat. The regulatory board is now reviewing these allegations of professional misconduct.
