The Annapurna Base Camp trekking route in Nepal is experiencing a notable rise in visitor numbers following the restoration of road access previously blocked by landslides and floods. Local tourism officials report that approximately 300 travelers are arriving at the base camp daily. This influx is attributed to both the improved infrastructure and a shift in travel patterns, as trekkers opt for the Annapurna region over paths in Manang and Manaslu that remain affected by environmental disruptions. While the base camp's six lodges have a total capacity of 350 guests, current occupancy is driven primarily by international and South Asian visitors rather than domestic travelers. Favorable weather conditions have further encouraged hikers to visit the site, particularly for sunrise viewing opportunities at the viewpoint.
