Turkish defense manufacturer ASELSAN and telecommunications provider Türk Telekom have commenced testing for a new smartphone, with a commercial release scheduled for the first half of 2027. According to Türk Telekom CEO Ebubekir Şahin, the initiative involves a partnership established in May that also includes TTT İnovasyon, an entity linked to the World Turkish Business Council. Under this agreement, ASELSAN is responsible for hardware engineering and manufacturing, while Türk Telekom manages software development, marketing, and distribution. The upcoming devices, which will utilize the Android operating system, are designed to compete in the middle and premium market segments. Development efforts are currently focused on optimizing camera capabilities and battery longevity, with production activities taking place in the eastern province of Malatya.
