According to journalist Deniz Zeyrek, advisors to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev stated that his decision to miss the Organization of Turkic States summit in Ankara was a reciprocal action. This move followed Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's choice to bypass the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia held in Baku on October 15, where Turkey was represented by Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan. In a similar fashion, Azerbaijan dispatched Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov to the Ankara summit. Reports indicate that these diplomatic signals are linked to Baku's desire for Ankara to address concerns regarding seven Turkish nationals accused of specific offenses. This exchange highlights the current diplomatic dynamics between the two nations as they manage their regional cooperation commitments.
