Education Minister A N M Ehsanul Hoque Milon announced a new policy allowing students who failed one or two subjects in the recent Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations to retake those specific papers within a month. This initiative affects approximately 422,905 candidates who did not pass a limited number of subjects. Previously, students facing failure in public examinations were obligated to wait an entire academic year before attempting to clear their failed subjects. The announcement was made during the official release of the HSC results at the Secretariat, with the participation of the Prime Minister's Adviser, Mahdi Amin. This change provides a faster pathway for students to complete their qualifications without the standard twelve-month delay, offering them the flexibility to either focus solely on the subjects they failed or opt for a full re-examination.
