A Batik Air flight bound for Kuala Lumpur experienced a departure delay in Singapore due to a confrontation between a passenger and the cabin crew. The incident reportedly began when the traveler insisted on keeping a cardboard box under her seat, rejecting an alternative offer from staff to store the item on an empty seat. Furthermore, the passenger allegedly refused to comply with safety protocols, specifically the requirement to fasten her seatbelt. A video shared on social media captured the woman being removed from the aircraft by authorities. The airline staff and local officials were praised by other passengers for their professional management of the situation, which eventually allowed the flight to proceed after the disruptive individual was escorted off the plane.
