A customer at Al-Majlis restaurant in Serangoon claimed to have discovered a cockroach in his char kway teow on September 17. The individual shared an image of the insect within the noodles on the social media platform Threads and subsequently posted a rap video detailing the experience. He reportedly declined a complimentary meal replacement due to the incident. The diner demanded S$5,000 in compensation for the alleged hygiene failure. In response, the restaurant management has firmly denied the claims, asserting that the incident did not occur as described. The establishment has since filed a police report and intends to pursue legal action against the customer for defamation to protect its reputation.
