As Dhaka endures a persistent heatwave, local wildlife is struggling to cope with the rising temperatures. In Suhrawardy Udyan, a group of kites was observed attempting to cool down by utilizing a local pond. The birds were seen dipping their heads, submerging their bodies, and splashing water with their wings to manage the thermal stress. This behavior, documented on September 29, highlights the impact of the current weather conditions on urban fauna. The kites alternated between soaking in the water and flapping their wings to shed excess moisture before taking flight again. This scene serves as a clear indication of how the ongoing extreme heat is affecting the daily activities and survival strategies of birds within the capital city.
