A business owner named Serbülend Danış testified in an Istanbul court regarding corruption allegations involving the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB). Danış claimed he was coerced into paying 10 million Turkish Liras in bribes and surrendering two plots of land valued at 50 million liras to facilitate the collection of outstanding payments owed to his firm. He accused Baki and Bulut Aydöner of orchestrating this extortion. The proceedings are part of a massive corruption case involving 414 defendants, including Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoğlu, who faces numerous charges ranging from bribery to money laundering. Another witness, Adem Tuncay, alleged intimidation following his cooperation with authorities. Meanwhile, Gözdem Ongun defended her financial activities, attributing them to legitimate business transactions. Prosecutors are seeking significant prison time for the mayor, citing a lengthy indictment detailing various criminal offenses linked to the municipal administration.
