At the 2026 China International Fair for Trade in Services in Beijing, Boyagongdao Marine Technology Group introduced the BG-5 Golden Dragon Fish. This biomimetic robot, inspired by the golden arowana, features a three-jointed tail mechanism that mimics natural swimming patterns. Weighing three kilograms, the device utilizes onboard sensors to identify obstacles and navigate independently, moving away from reliance on fixed, pre-programmed paths. Developers suggest that this technology could be utilized for reconnaissance and underwater monitoring missions. The demonstration at Shougang Park highlights China's ongoing advancements in the field of biomimetic robotics, focusing on creating systems capable of autonomous movement in aquatic environments.
