The National Climate Center of China has issued a forecast indicating that a major El Nino phenomenon is currently developing within the tropical Pacific region. Experts anticipate that this weather pattern will persist until the summer of 2027. Projections suggest that sea surface temperatures in the equatorial Pacific will climb, reaching their maximum intensity between November and December of this year. With an expected peak temperature increase surpassing 2.5 degrees Celsius, meteorologists believe this event could potentially exceed the severity of historical records from 1982, 1997, and 2015. Chief forecasters at the center warn that the rapid evolution of this climate event will likely trigger notable weather anomalies across China in the near future, as the atmospheric impacts are already beginning to manifest.
