A 35-year-old employee at a Jurong Port Road construction site lost his life on September 11 following a workplace accident. According to the Ministry of Manpower, the individual was performing foundation tasks when he was hit by a hose linked to a compressed air pump. Emergency responders declared him deceased at the location. The employer, Keller Foundations (S E Asia) Pte Ltd, has been ordered to halt all concreting operations at the site while authorities conduct an investigation. Officials emphasized that safety protocols require compressed air systems to be completely depressurized and isolated before any equipment or hoses are detached. The ministry continues to examine the circumstances surrounding this fatal incident.
