During the Adipec conference in Abu Dhabi, Dr. Sultan Al Jaber highlighted that disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz have led to the depletion of nearly one billion barrels from global oil reserves. The UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology emphasized that current supply buffers are insufficient, noting that production capacity alone cannot ensure energy stability. He argued that the industry must prioritize the security of delivery systems alongside supply. To mitigate future market shocks, Dr. Al Jaber advocated for increased investment in energy infrastructure and the integration of artificial intelligence. By leveraging advanced technology, he suggested the sector could better manage logistical challenges and guarantee that energy reaches consumers reliably despite ongoing geopolitical and maritime instability.
